Fences are usually less than 6 foot and there fore will be too low to be able to be used comfortably. Fold downs also need to be fixed to solid posts so the width of the clothesline will need to marry up with the posts. Fences need to be strong and solid so as not to cause them to lean over in time.

Standard colours are Heritage Green or Beige. Special colours can be ordered. Please see the colorbond or dulux colour charts on their websites to see what colours suits you. Please ensure you choose a powdercoat colour on the dulux chart and not a paint colour. Special colours are specially made for you and will take about 3-4 weeks for delivery. Prices are $59 for wall mounts and $99 for ground mounted versions.

Yes you can, fold down clotheslines are designed to be attached to a wall with brick walls being the best to attach to. Wall that are timber framed inside are good too but you need to make sure that the brackets of the clothesline marry up with the studs in the wall. The clothesline can be easily trimmed down in width to match up with the wall studs. Modern homes wall studs should marry up with the clothesline brackets as they are designed to do so.

Yes you can. Clothesline covers generally fit most types of fold downs but before you purchase please ensure from your cover maker that it is the correct one for the line. Clothesline covers can be fitted to both wall and ground mounted models.

Austral has steel corners on all its fold downs. Austral fold downs are Australian made as opposed to Chinese made. They are made with Australian steel with a tick of approval from Standards Australia quality assurance program. Only Austral fold downs have the patented line locking device with lever for easy line tensioning. Austral clotheslines are wider and have up to 30-50% more line space. Austral fold down braces dont wear out or stop working, this is due to simplicity of design. Austral fold downs are galvanised on the inside of the tube as well as out, then powder coated.

Yes they can. There are two methods of doing this. One is you can have your concrete, pavers, rock, or tiles core drilled by us to enable the leg kit to be concreted into the ground. Or, you can use a plate mounted leg kit. This is only good if you have flat concrete or tiles which is very solid. To use the plate mounted leg kit you will need to be shorter than 6 foot. The plate mount leg kits come in at just under 6 foot in height. You will need to be able to walk under them.

Yes it can but care should be taken to make sure that the unit is fixed to the wall studs. If this is not an option, put a solid piece of timber across two wall studs and fix. Then fix the unit to the timber.

The Retractaway 40-50 have no minimum distance requirement. The maximum for Retractaway 40 is 8 meters or less, and the Retractaway 50 is 10 meters or less.

Yes and they are easy to use. The cabinet also has a LOCK to lock all lines when extended.

Yes but it must be attached to a post. Also the fence will need to be about 7 foot high.

Normally yes you can. If the posts are square and not round they should be able to be mounted to the post. You will need to buy the mount bar as well to mount to your post. Contact us so we can send this special package to you.

Yes you can. We can core drill through the concrete slab or rock or pavers and cement your clothesline socket into the ground for $80.

Yes they are. Austral foldaways come with a square ground socket rather than a round one like hills branded products. This enables minimum contact with the walls of the socket enabling easy removals. The clothesline is lite at about 23 kgs. The arms fold up with a cable tie (included) to tie the arms from falling about during removal. Comes with a safety cap for the ground socket.

Yes, all Austral foldaways have a patented levered line tension lock for constant taut lines.

Our Austral patented winders are very easy to wind, very low maintenance and very high quality.
